How to create product bundles on the Turbo theme (checkout-safe)

Create checkout-safe product bundles on the Turbo theme — a lightweight offer that keeps Turbo's speed, enforced at checkout by a Shopify Function.

Turbo, by Out of the Sandbox, is a fast, feature-rich premium theme built for large catalogs and stores that treat speed as a feature. When you add an offer to a theme chosen for performance, it can’t be heavy. This guide covers how to create product bundles on the Turbo theme without slowing pages down — and how to keep them checkout-safe so the price shown is the price charged.

Two ways to bundle on Turbo

Shopify’s native Bundles app groups products into one fixed item. Reasonable for a curated set, but on a large catalog it means building and maintaining extra bundle products — a lot of overhead.

A product-page bundle widget shows quantity offers — BOGO, 3-for-2, volume tiers — right in the product section of any product, no new catalog entries. For a big Turbo store, that scales far better. The free Profit Flow AOV Bundle works this way and enforces the deal at checkout.

Setting it up on Turbo

Turbo is section-based (Out of the Sandbox), so placement is quick. In the theme editor, open your product template and add the Profit Flow app block to the product section, near add-to-cart.

The reason this pairs well with Turbo: the offer block is lightweight — it doesn’t ship heavy scripts or extra fonts, so it keeps Turbo’s speed focus and healthy Core Web Vitals. Turbo has no checkout-enforced bundle of its own, so there is no native widget to disable to avoid duplicate offers. Turbo does layer in extras like quick view and mega-menus; if you have added a separate upsell app on top, keep a single offer per product so the page stays clean.

Keep it checkout-safe

Most on-page bundle tools run in the browser: the discount is displayed with JavaScript but never enforced, so an unqualified free item can reach checkout at the deal price.

Profit Flow enforces the offer with a Shopify Function inside Shopify’s checkout. Quantities and discounts are validated server-side, so the price shown equals the price charged. Tiered “buy more, save more” pricing — a natural fit for stock-up catalogs — runs on the same enforcement via our volume discounts.

In short

On Turbo, a lightweight block plus a Function gives you offers that scale across a big catalog and hold at checkout — without costing speed. Add the block, set your tiers, publish.

FAQ

Does it clash with Turbo's native widgets?
No. Turbo is a feature-rich Out of the Sandbox theme, but it has no checkout-enforced bundle of its own, so there is nothing to disable. If you use Turbo's quick-view or other upsell add-ons, keep only one offer per product.
Where does the widget mount on Turbo?
In the product section of the theme editor, near add-to-cart. The block is lightweight, so it won't drag on Turbo's speed focus.
Is it enforced at checkout on Turbo?
Yes. A Shopify Function validates the offer server-side, so the price shown is the price charged.
