Mix & match / build-a-box on Shopify — checkout-safe

“Build a box” turns browsing into a game: the shopper picks their own mix from a set and unlocks a discount once the box is full. It’s a proven AOV lever for consumables, samplers and gift sets — as long as the discount only applies when the box is actually complete.

How it works

The widget shows the eligible products with a checkbox on each and a “N / threshold selected” progress counter. The shopper checks any products up to the threshold; the theme’s own Add to cart adds the picked items in one go. The discount can be a percentage or a fixed amount off each item.

Checkout-safe, so a half-full box can’t be gamed

A Shopify Discount Function applies the mix & match discount only while the box has all its items at checkout. Remove one and the price reverts server-side — the shopper can’t keep the discount with an incomplete box, and you never eat the margin.

Set it up

1. Install Profit Flow AOV Bundle and create a Mix & Match offer.
2. Set the threshold (how many to pick) and the discount (percentage or fixed amount each).
3. Point it at the set or collection shoppers choose from.
4. Add the app block to the product page and publish.
